Barry C. Gidney, age 57, brings over 34 years of experience in the lending industry, with a career that includes originating and funding over $15 billion in mortgages. He currently serves as Assistant Vice President of Commercial Mortgages with the largest non-bank lender, where he has worked as a mortgage banker for the past 29 years. In addition, Barry is the founder and owner of Fundy Capital Management Inc., a real estate investment company established in 1999. Fundy Capital owns and manages a portfolio exceeding $200 million, comprising 73 properties with 800,000 square feet of commercial space, 442 apartment units, and two retirement homes with 120 and 138 beds, respectively. Barry’s extensive background in real estate finance and investment management adds invaluable insight to the board.
Sam Samal is the Vice President for Fundy Capital Management Inc. and is responsible for financial reporting, design, and maintenance of strategy across the organisation. Mr. Samal joined Fundy Capital in 2006 and has been responsible since then for expanding Fundy Capital's assets under management to over $175 Million. Besides his foray into real estate for the last 20 years, Mr. Samal retains an ardent interest in international taxation and business valuation. Mr. Samal has obtained his Chartered Professional Accountant designation from CPA Ontario and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. He is an active member of CFA Society Toronto.
